ABOUT ME
EXPLORING
FEMALE IDENTITY AND DEEPLY HIDDEN EMOTIONS THROUGH VISUAL ALLEGORIES
My artistic research is a profound metabolization of the female condition, shaped by the revaluation of my personal experience. I was born and raised in a culture where the word “feminist” is used as a slur, and where the illusion of (post-)Soviet equality meant a double burden on women — and their voluntary submission to an unbearable, yet familiar, form of oppression.
The only field that has ever interested me more than art is the world of psychology and psychoanalysis. All my artworks are born from deeply fermented emotions, emerging as surreal metaphors.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY VISUAL ARTIST BASED IN BOLOGNA

Born in Moscow in 1987, Ksenia found her passion for art at an early age. Growing up amidst creativity and expression, with her mother being a renowned illustrator and independent artist, she was immersed in a vibrant artistic environment. Despite graduating from the law faculty, she never felt far from her true calling. After years of balancing her artistic aspirations with a career in the Moscow court system, she finally reached a pivotal moment. In 2012, she made the bold decision to relocate to Italy, where she pursued her passion wholeheartedly. It was at the University of Bologna's art faculty (DAMS) where she refined her skills and embraced her identity as an artist.
In 2022, she expanded her horizons by completing curatorial course at N.I.C.E. presso Paratissima (Turin). This newfound expertise allowed her to delve deeper into the art world, not only as an artist but also as an art curator. Such intersection of roles has enriched her understanding of the contemporary art world and enabled her to contribute to the cultural dialogue in a multifaceted manner.
